Workshop for new urban/architectural visions of Ogmia territory between P.Lukšio, Verkių, J.Kubiliaus and Lakūnų streets in Vilnius: ‘AB Ogmios centras’ has an ambition to develop an EXCEPTIONAL AREA for a local community and Vilnius city for having an enduring value and long term success. Territory is divided into THREE MAIN ZONES: shopping mall with office buildings, core of the center for the community life, covering main needs of daily routine and exquisite moments. The third part – kindergarten, youth business incubator and housing blocks. We chose this way to organize the territory according to the scale of Vilnius city, the density of existing shopping zones in urban fabric and the required programme of ‘AB Ogmia centras‘. We propose four ‘E’ SQUARES for the main part of the centre. The street between the squares forms the Alley of Tastes. This area is destined for smaller scale commerce, where one can buy daily stuff, spend time in cosy cafes and small shops of distinctive character. In the main square we are proposing a CONCERT HALL (for ~2000 people) as there is still a lack of this size of concert halls in the city of Vilnius.
